This page provides information on the criteria and conditions for presentation awards at WEST 2024.
To ensure fairness, duplicate awards will not be given to a single presenter. If a presenter becomes eligible for more than two awards, they will receive the highest award, and the remaining awards will be given to the next person in the award winners’ list.
Philip H. Jones Award
- 1st place: 300 CAD
- 2nd place: 200 CAD
This award recognizes the best and second best presentations throughout the conference. The winners will be determined based on judging results. The award is presented by the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ). Only students at Canadian universities are eligible for this award. For more details, please visit the CAWQ website.
Education Session
- Best Presentation Award: 150 CAD
- Runner-up Presentation Award: 100 CAD
These awards are given for the best and runner-up presentations in each session. The winners will be determined through judging results. All presenters are eligible for these awards.
3MWT and Poster Session
- Best Presentation Award: 125 CAD
- Runner-up Presentation Award: 75 CAD
- People’s Choice Award: 50 CAD
These sessions offer three awards. The best and runner-up presentation awards will be determined by judging results, while the People’s Choice Award will be determined based on voting results. All presenters are eligible for these awards.
